Golf ball OEM case studies are useful evidence — but only if you know how to read them. A supplier who shows you a photograph of a beautifully packaged golf ball set has demonstrated one thing: they can produce a packaged golf ball set that looks good in a photograph. That is a meaningful data point, but it is not the same as evidence of ball construction quality, production consistency, or on-time delivery. This guide explains what packaging examples actually prove, what they do not prove, and what additional evidence to request.
A packaging case study — a photograph or description of a completed private-label golf ball packaging project — provides evidence of the following: the supplier can coordinate custom logo printing on a golf ball; the supplier can produce a custom-printed retail box (sleeve box, dozen box, or gift box); the supplier has completed at least one real project for a named or unnamed brand; and the packaging execution meets a basic standard of visual quality.
These are all meaningful facts for a buyer to know. A supplier who cannot show any packaging examples is a higher-risk choice than one who can show several completed projects with consistent quality.
Packaging case studies do not provide evidence of the following: ball construction quality (a beautifully packaged Surlyn ball and a beautifully packaged urethane ball look identical in a photograph); production consistency across a full order run; on-time delivery performance; quality control processes; or the supplier's ability to handle your specific project requirements.
This distinction is particularly important when evaluating urethane ball suppliers. A supplier who shows packaging examples using Surlyn balls is not providing evidence of urethane production capability. Always ask what ball construction was used in each case study example.

Each case study page notes whether the example used a Surlyn or urethane ball, and includes a packaging disclaimer: 'This example demonstrates custom branding and retail packaging execution capability. Ball construction and cover material vary by project and should not be used as urethane performance evidence.'
This approach is intentional. We believe buyers deserve accurate information about what each piece of evidence proves. Packaging examples are evidence of packaging capability. Performance evidence requires separate documentation — specifically, robot test data from a verified testing session.
After reviewing packaging case studies, buyers evaluating a urethane ball supplier should request: (1) robot test data from a GCQuad or equivalent launch monitor session, with the test date, conditions, and ball specification clearly documented; (2) a physical sample of the production ball for independent evaluation; and (3) a product specification sheet confirming the ball construction, cover material, and dimple count.

The 3-piece model was tested on June 28, 2026, with a client present to observe, using a GCQuad launch monitor and a swing robot. Published robot-test evidence currently applies only to the exact 3-piece SKU and recorded test conditions. When reviewing a supplier's case studies, watch for the following red flags: case studies that claim urethane performance without test data; packaging photographs that do not identify the ball construction; claims of performance superiority over named branded products without documented test evidence; and case studies that appear to be stock photography rather than actual production examples.
