MetaSeal Golf's standard MOQ for custom golf balls is 2,000 pieces (approximately 167 dozen). This applies to 2-piece, 3-piece, and 4-piece constructions with custom logo printing and standard sleeve or box packaging.
The 2,000-piece MOQ is a production batch minimum, not a per-SKU minimum. If you are ordering multiple ball models or packaging variants, each variant counts separately toward MOQ. For quantities below 2,000 pieces, a startup ink fee applies (Pricing is prepared after the product, quantity, printing, packaging, and delivery requirements are confirmed.). Sample orders have no minimum quantity and are available for project evaluation before committing to bulk production.
Why does the 2,000-piece MOQ exist? The MOQ reflects the minimum batch size for efficient production line operation. Golf ball manufacturing involves fixed setup costs: rubber compound mixing, core compression tooling, cover coating line setup, and printing plate preparation. Spreading these fixed costs over fewer than 2,000 pieces makes the per-unit cost prohibitively high for most buyers.
What counts toward the MOQ? Each unique combination of ball construction + cover color + logo artwork counts as one SKU. A 2,000-piece order of a single SKU meets the MOQ. An order of two different SKUs (for example, one with a red logo and one with a blue logo) requires 2,000 pieces per SKU, or a combined minimum agreed with our production team.
Can I order fewer than 2,000 pieces? Yes, with a startup ink fee. The fee covers the fixed setup costs that would otherwise be amortized across the full 2,000-piece batch. Contact us for current pricing on sub-MOQ orders. For most buyers, ordering the full 2,000-piece MOQ is more cost-effective than paying the sub-MOQ surcharge.
